When working with couples, I examine how you communicate with your partner and how your communication is received. Do you know how to support your partner and do you feel supported by your partner? Do you truly listen to your partner and do you feel heard by your partner? Do you know how to ask for what you need and are you able to embrace your partner’s needs?
Together we will explore what gets in the way of effectively relating to your partner and working toward a “win-win” vision. With clarity and kindness, I will guide you to practice more effective ways to relate. Once you change your ways of relating and connecting, you will be able to give and receive the love and intimacy that will nourish both of you.
As a map for couples therapy I use the Gottman modality. Please view this article as an introduction to what you can expect.
